Event Recap: Opening Night of Queer Time Capsule at Petaluma Arts Center

Opening night of Queer Time Capsule on April 17th was nothing short of electric. Over 250 people came through the doors of the Petaluma Arts Center to witness the debut of this deeply personal, deeply political project—and we felt every bit of that love, curiosity, and community energy.

The gallery buzzed with laughter, tears, conversation, and connection as folks moved through the space, taking in the portraits, stories, and installations that make up the heart of this project. It was incredible to watch people see themselves reflected—sometimes for the very first time—in a space designed to honor queer histories and celebrate queer futures.

Opening night reminded us that art can be both an archive and a rally cry. That our stories matter. That community holds us. And that Queer Time Capsule is not just a show—it’s a movement.

We’re still glowing with gratitude for everyone who showed up and showed out. Thank you for being part of this moment. Photos by Sarah Gonzales, Owner of Peopletography.
